The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), GTZ and Integra, the German network for the abandonment of FGM, organized a joint conference on “Ending FGM: Experience in Africa and Europe – Outlook for Germany†on December 12th and 13th 2006 in Berlin.
The GTZ Health Sector Programme supported the participation of senior MOH officials on this high level seminar on “Social Health Insurance and the Health Care system in Germanyâ€.
MOH GTZ Health Sector Programme is supporting “The first ever comprehensive situational analysis study of faith-based health services vis-a-vis public health services” in Kenya.
The joint assessment of the Faith Based and Government Health Services in 11 districts in Kenya is underway. Data from all health institutions in 8 districts has been collected and a first draft report is expected by the end of this week.
The Permanent Secretary for Health Dr. Hezron Nyangito has last week nominated the German Development Cooperation as a member in the newly set-up National Task Force on Health Care Financing.
