The Gender Based Violence component of the GTZ Health Sector Programme underwent a teambuilding exercise on December 17, 2008.
The Gender Based Violence (GBV) component visited the Gender Based Violence Recovery Centre (GBVRC) of the Coast Provincial General Hospital in Mombasa on December 22nd 2008.

Following the disputed December 2007 election results and an ensuing period of Violence, that affected many parts of Rift valley, the Government of Kenya intensified its request for the German Development Cooperation (GDC) to consider extending the German Technical Cooperation support to Rift valley Province.
The German Development Cooperation, through GTZ Health Sector Programme (HSP), participated in a joint institutional review of the Ministry of Medical Services and the Ministry of Public Health Health and Sanitation.
