GTZ participated in the launch of the Mother Child Health Booklet that was undertaken by the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation on April 23, 2010. The launch was presided over by Dr. Sharif, Director of Public Health and Sanitation.
GTZ participated in a one day pre-conference workshop hosted by the Kenya Medical Association. The workshop was held at Sirikwa Hotel in Eldoret on the 21st April, 2010.

In early 2009, the German Development Cooperation through GTZ commissioned a study on the costs of maternal health services in the public, private, and NGO sectors in Bangladesh. The German Development Cooperation, through GTZ Health sector programme and German Development Bank (KfW), participated in the Acceleration of Maternal, Newborn and Child Survival in Kenya; Setting a National Agenda workshop in March 2010 in Nakuru, Kenya.
GTZ Health Programme Director, Klaus Hornetz, participated in the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK) Annual Conference on April 21st at Jumuia Conference Centre in Limuru. The central theme of the Conference was the Memorandum of Understanding between CHAK and other religious organizations and the Government of Kenya.
In 2010, the RH/GBV component of GTZ Health Sector Programme will identify, via a demand driven approach, best practice facilities to improve service delivery in RH and for survivors of sexual violence.
The GTZ Health Sector Programme has submitted project proposals of three Kenyan partners to the German Gender BACKUP Initiative.
